Several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, have shown interest in the app, developed by Amsterdam based company imgZine. The Dutch Secretary of State, Frans Timmermans, says this in a letter to the parliament.

    ORTEC Wins 2013 GBC Business Health Award

    ORTEC announced today that it has won the 2013 GBC Health Business Action on Health Awards in recognition of its contribution to optimizing the logistical processes of North Star Alliance (North Star), a not-for-profit organization established in 2006 to build a network of roadside health clinics across Africa. In 2012, 219,681 people visited North Star clinics to receive counseling, testing, and treatment, all registered with a passport system developed by ORTEC.

    ORTEC wins Computerworld Award

    Computerworld today announced ORTEC has won the 2013 Honors Laureate Award. Computerworld’s annual award program honors visionary applications of information technology promoting positive social, economic and educational change. ORTEC won for its work optimizing the logistical processes of North Star Alliance, a not-for-profit organization established in 2006 to build a network of Roadside Wellness Centers (RWCs) across Africa. In 2012, 218,762 people visited North Star clinics to receive counseling, testing, and treatment, all registered with a passport system developed by ORTEC. ORTEC’s Corridor Medical Transfer System COMETS system facilitates the collection of site-specific health and demographic data. COMETS innovation – it is the first medical patient system in Africa where individual patient files can be accessed at different locations regardless of national borders. The Computerworld Honors Program awards will be presented at the Gala Awards Ceremony on June 3, 2013 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
